Well, I didn't get transferred. I figure that I must need to do something in this area before I leave and I am determined to find out what or who it is. Elder B. is still my comp as well. We haven't been able to see Karani (I figured out how to spell it) again yet. I agree, the possum definitely beat the pig head - thanks Mom :) Kaden sounds like the man - the trip to Lava Hot Springs sounds like a cool scout trip. I'm glad he is working on it. And he can drive the four-wheelers - that is awesome! Keegan and Chantelle seem to have had an awesome honeymoon - I am jealous. Sounds like their house is coming along. I am hoping (maybe even praying) that Sam comes here. That would be the coolest thing ever. We'll have to see what happens but let us all remember how I said that Keegan & Chantelle were going to get married, and what happened there? It's possible that the only difference between me and the matchmaker from Mulan is the fact that I don't drink tea. Mission conference was good.
This Week:
This week was pretty good. The mission conference was really cool on Thursday. Prior to Thursday we didn't really do a lot of work - it was mostly just running errands with the zone leader because his comp had gone home already. It was a nice break but nothing to crazy happened.
On Thursday we got up at 5 to get ready and we left by 7 to drive down to Auckland. We got to the meeting at about 10:30 and it started at about 11:10. It was a long day... the meeting didn't end until 4. For the last hour and a half we were able to hear from the speakers from Time Out for Women; Brother and Sister Turly, Brother and Sister Dalton, and Bro and Sister Sweaten. (I am pretty sure I spelled their names wrong). It was really cool to hear from them and then in conclusion we were addressed by Elder Pearson and His Wife. It was so cool. I love the way Elder Pearson speaks and there was a great musical number by Sister Turly. It was a good experience. Then we drove back, stopped at BK (which is tradition on the way back up). We ended up getting home at 10:30. Like I said, it was a long day. I also drove with the trailer that had all the suit cases in it because no one else had ever driven one. Our car doesn't have a whole lot of power as it is and the trailer just made it worse.
Looking back we had a fun experience the other night. We were going to get free milk from one of the members who is in our area - Brother Fabian Keihoe, the one we were milking with. We were trying to sneak in without him seeing so we went to his cow shed just before dark and went to fill up. I know what you are thinking.... no it was not fresh from the teat. We fill up from his massive tank of milk. We got there and I ended up driving into some mud. Well I thought it was mud but it ended up being a giant pile of cow dung mixed with spilled milk. We got stuck in it. I got cow crap all over my proselyting clothes and the worst on my shoes as we tried for about an hour to get ourselves unstuck. Then we finally gave up and we had to walk across the farm to the members house and ask for his help, it was pretty embarrassing. He had to use his quad to pull us out. It was awful but now looking back it is pretty funny. That is probably the craziest thing that has happened to me this week.
Things are looking up for the zone. President transferred half the zone. Elder B and I are the only companionship that stayed so it will be different to see how the zone is this transfer.
Love,
Elder Summers
We found this cool stairwell next to Karani's house...
I think it leads to a cave with a really big spider in it.
We will have to see another time
