Questions and Stuff: First off, I assume that people will be wondering about the big earthquake that hit NZ... Yes Elder Wilson and I did feel it, no we didn't get hurt, and no real damage was done in our area. We were up late playing a card game so we went to bed late enough to feel it at about 11:30 while we were laying in bed. It went for about 2 min and then we were both buzzing out about how we were actually in an earthquake. |
So things have gone well this week, it has been a lot of fun to see everyone - I really love the people here. I was wondering what to write this week as it is my final week. It seems to me that every other missionary when they finish they leave some really powerful testimony about the Atonement and how much they have changed. So yeah, I am not really feeling like going to serious this week. Not that I don't have a testimony don't worry, because yes, this experience has been amazing and yes, I believe the Atonement has helped, and continues to help me change but what I wanted to focus on this week were a couple of my favorite parts about the mission.
This is a question that seems to come up a lot, "What has been my favorite part of the mission?" Well, that is pretty hard to decide but I think I have finally come to a final decision in the final stages as I finalize my trip home. My favorite part of my mission has been the opportunity I have had to teach and be taught. When I am able to teach someone about the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I get to see them recognize the truthfulness of the Gospel because of the Holy Ghost and the Light of Christ working together, it is one of the best feelings in the world! I don't know how to explain it - it is kind of like that feeling when you put the last puzzle piece inside a puzzle but a thousand times better. I will always miss being able to be a missionary who gets to teach full-time and I will be forever grateful for the people that I have had the priviledge of meeting.
That is another of my favorite parts of my mission. I have been able to form relationships with so many different people from all over the world - whether that be the members, the missionaries, or my mission president, President Balli - but the people I have been able to teach are the people who seem to really matter. My life has been changed forever and my testimony is stronger than it has even been. I look forward to seeing you. I will be excited to be home but I will always love this place, it is hard to describe aye. I have loved serving my mission and I will continue to serve in any way that I can.
Love,
Elder Summers
