Holy cow you had a pretty busy weekend it sounds like. It is weird to think that Kody is married. The same kid who I remember having intense light saber fights with, peeing in bottles at sleep overs with, playing Smash Bros for hours at a time, is now married. Little weird. Hopefully they do start to see how the gospel can help their family, I know that sounds super robotic missionary-ish but it is true. They will be an even stronger family if they are going to church and living the gospel. Tell Kody I love him, and Liesel welcome to the family of course. Xbox parties at their place? Lani and her family are now in Melbourne and are loving it. We are trying to get their address but the mom hasn't emailed it to us quite yet. That family, during the days, ended up being a build up. My companion, Elder Lolohea, used to live hear in NZ for about 3 years and he actually knew the family. We thought this would be a good connection but he said, "Before I is a missionary, not follow all da rules." So it ended up being pretty awkward for him - man it was so funny though! Trio is good. I miss Costco.
This week:
This week was a pretty hard week. It just seemed like nothing was really working out. We are still trying to stay positive - or maybe it is just me and my companions are probably not annoyed. Oh well. We are still working hard and trying to have fun. We had one of our investigators we have been working with was scheduled for her baptism this last Saturday. On Thursday, President Reid, who is one of the counselors to the mission president, interviewed her. We don't know the details but he told us we would have wait until May. She didn't come to church yesterday so we don't know how she's feeling now. We have a lesson scheduled for tonight and we are praying that she will feel okay. We are trying our best but it was definitely discouraging.
Elder Lolohea got sick this week as well. We think he ate some bad pastrami out of our fridge - or maybe it was the caterpillars he ate. Anyway, we had to spend a whole day inside. That was a long day. I got to put together a pretty good puzzle though so that was one of the highlights :)
Highlight of the week. We found some cocoons are are now waiting for our butterflies to hatch.
The Church is still true, I am still loving the mission. Just maybe not as much this week.
Love,
Elder Summers
PS We also had to say goodbye to Lani and that was sad :(
