The week has been good. The YSA ward really did step up with Michaela now her twin sister is coming as well. Things are definitely more laid back here - there is like Mormon standard time (which we are familiar with from back home), then there is the next level when you combine it with Island Time, and if you get both It ends up that no activity seems to ever start on time, ever, even our missionary meeting always start at least a little bit late. I absolutely love the laid back atmosphere. I haven't even really thought about that for a while. I am loving my mission. I know it is the right one for me. It is still weird that it is cold back home because this week has been really hot and muggy - the kind of weather that makes you sweat and then never lets it dry. I am used to it though. Kaden sounds pretty busy... life is hard when you are 13 :) It is cool that he is smart - we will see what he gets on the ACT ;) When is mom going to finish her masters? I love the Hummers - you are right about Sam and Preston, it is just a different relationship. Super Bowl in New Zealand pretty much means that everyone I talk to is going to ask if the Super Bowl is keeping the Sabbath day holy, and then they will bash the traditions we have back home. It is pretty funny because here it is on Monday so they think that makes it okay to watch but really its supporting it just as much because all that is going on is still taking place on a Sunday. People are funny.
This week:
This week was transfers and so that means it was a very busy week for us. Transfers was different this time so we didn't have a meeting and the Assistants didn't come and neither did President so It was just up to the zone Leaders to figure it out. It wasn't perfect but went better than expected. I am staying another transfer with Elder Peihopa, definitely some answered prayers there. I will be killing him off, in just a few more weeks.
We also got a call this week that we were going to have a mission conference in the Hamilton mission boundaries on Saturday. Usually we get this info a few weeks in advance but it came the week of, plus we had transfers so there was an awful lot of planning and considering logistics. The reason being is that they were scheduled to have Elder Christofferson be in Vanuatu but something happened that caused it so that he couldn't fly in so he decided to fly to Auckland instead. It was awesome getting to meet with him. He might be my favorite apostle. He was pretty much just winging it/ following the Spirit on our 2 hour meeting with him. It was mostly just Q and A which was awesome. He has an amazing knowledge of the scriptures. Something funny is that he didn't have the JST for a scripture because the scriptures he carries around with him have the standard works but none of the study helps, to make them lightweight. He nicknamed it the Elder Holland Edition because Elder Holland didn't think he needed the study helps anymore :) It was an amazing opportunity to be in his presence. He is definitely an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything he says just makes so much sense.
My week finished off with a zone devotional we had with our new zone this morning. We did a get to know you game and had everyone write a rap about their companion to introduce them. We had some other stuff planned but the zone went hundies on the game so it took the whole time. We smashed it of course because we know each other so well. It was fun. The new zone should be good, I am looking forward to see where this transfer goes. Time is moving to fast.
Love
Elder Summers
