The trio is going well. We are really enjoying it, but I think the ward thinks we hate each other. Elder Smith is quite sarcastic and it causes us to look like we might be really rude. I can handle it, as you know sarcasm isn't something that I am unfamiliar with. Elder Smith just got an email from elder Harris and he was like, "Why didn't you tell me your brothers girlfriend served in my mission?!" It was pretty funny everybody looked at him in the internet cafe and I just said, "It never came up." :) Every once in a while I have and Email that I just love to write, I am glad that a lot of people were able to share that experience with me. I hope Ray's heart gets softened sooner rather than later but we will have to see. I am not too sure about Elder Crane, he takes the work very seriously, very seriously. He is a really hard worker and a great Elder. The commitment I left him with was to be a little less serious. I didn’t get the change to follow up so I really don't how he’s doing with it but might see him at the next zone conference so I’ll have to follow up with him.
Our last training was really funny. President showed us a video called “Save the One” (or something like that). It was about 20 sec and it showed a man saving a gazelle from a cheetah. It was a good one and I would encourage you to look it up. (click here to see video)
Man I miss the cabin. I also just started thinking about Astro Burger and my mouth watered. I think I may be hungry. Ryan finally finished the job - good for him! Thanks for not spoiling conference. I am really excited to see it this weekend. I will now be emailing every week at around 10:00am here so it should be 4 there if I am correct. Last week I was a little thrown off not getting the email when I logged on but I did get it. Unfortunately it was after I had already sent mine. It was good though, thank you. Oh yeah and child Predictions… Keeg and Chantelle won't have kids before I return but from Xoch's email to me, I am pretty sure she will have one and it is going to be a son. And behold it has been said in the wisdom of him who knoweth some things. :)
This week:
We have had a great week this week. My companions and I are loving it in GI ward. We had a woman get baptized on Friday. Her name was Vanessa. In the end it was a success but every time I have a baptism for some reason it never seems to run smoothly no matter how much I prepare. We had the program, the speakers, the clothes, and the chapel booked. We even had the font scheduled to be full. We got there 1 hour early and the font hadn't been full and there was a seminary dance playing worldly music that was pumping through the whole chapel. We got a hold of the ZL's and they left a lesson they were in to come and fill the font. We got started late, had to have the dance pause during the ordinance, and during the service there was music playing the background. I was worried that the whole thing had not been a spiritual experience for Vanessa but she bore her testimony yesterday after her confirmation and I could tell that she was just so happy to be a member it didn't matter if we had it all perfect or not. It was a really good experience.
Another Miracle this week was Lio. We met him yesterday at church I think he is about 17. He got up during church yesterday and he bore his testimony that he knew God was real and loved him and he wanted him to help him change. He just got out of a court ordered military camp. We were guessing the whole time that he wasn't a member but it wasn't until the end that he didn't say in the name of Jesus Christ that we were certain. We pretty much jumped on him after the meeting. He knew someone in the ward - his extended second uncle, twice removed, sort of a thing. We have a FHE with him and his uncle tonight. It should be really good.
It was a really good week.
Love,
Elder Summers
