So this week we have a ward BBQ today for Easter Monday here. Usually we email around 10:30 here and we stay for two hours. We went to the BBQ at the beach this morning so I am emailing later. We stayed at the BBQ for a little too long though so we are rushing to get everything done - not a whole lot of time today. Sorry. I will continue to pray for crazy random happenstances. I know that the work is going to be hard. But this is my first real taste of it. Tell Kade that I called him brace-face. He looks like a wiener. Sounds like it was a pretty good week. I email Will/Kylee/Preston every week, then some other random people that occasionally email me: Nayt Leithead, Alex Hill, Alexis, Tristin, Quinn, Dana, and a couple more. It is fun. Travis Clark got called to my mission so I have been emailing him. We get to watch conference all together this Saturday and Sunday at the stake center so 1 week late not too bad. I am pretty excited. I thought of some other stuff that I wish they had here in NZ: Mapleine, Tums, and Montreal Steak Seasoning. We rely heavily on sauces and seasonings whenever we cook anything at the flat or it ends up being really bland.
This week:
Things have been looking up this week. We are continuing to teach Jainielee, She says she still wants to be baptized. We are praying that she will get a light sentence and we will be able to hold the baptism in May. Holy cow it is already April. Conference is this week for me so that should be really good.
Easter weekend was pretty different here. It doesn't seem like there are any real Easter traditions. It is just another long weekend for the kids to be off school. There aren't really any Easter Egg hunts or even baskets. Plenty of Easter lollies though. The chocolate is so good here. It is always good to have an opportunity to focus on the atonement. I am learning quite a bit from my studies. I thought I knew the gospel pretty well before my mission - I mean I have been going to church my whole life plus I'm a seminary graduate. Man, I was so wrong. I learn so much from studies and it is awesome. I am at the point where my 1 hour of personal study in the morning doesn't feel long enough.
Transfers are this week so I am wondering what is going to happen. I know that our trio is probably going to be split up. That is the only thing I have though. Usually I have a pretty good guess on what is going to happen. I might get transferred, I might stay, It could be Elder Lolohea and me staying here, or maybe Elder Lloyd and I will stay. It is hard to tell in a trio. Transfers should be interesting. I really love the members in my ward here. It is at the point that even all the little kids know my name and I know almost everyone in the ward and feel comfortable visiting their houses. All of them. It is really good here, and I hope I stay with them. We will see what happens.
Love,
Soon to be the Only Elder Summers
P.S. Sorry forgot my camera at home today. No pictures this week.
