I have had a better week that is for sure. Kaden has a summer reading assignment? That sucks! That is awesome that Keeg took them to the cabin. Sounds like your life, Mom, is going to get crazy (or at least stay crazy for the next little while.) I am sure Xoch will get her job - no worries there. Dad is probably going to overheat the sewing machine with all these quilts. I am sad that I don't get to be the best man but I am sure Ely will be okay I guess. :)
This week:
So this week was interesting. I feel that the blog title really describes my week perfectly.
The first thing that happened, which was a bummer, is that I got into a car wreck. I am lucky to be alive right now. I was backing out of our driveway and the sisters were going to come with us to go help on a service project. I ended up backing right into their car. My companion was out behind the car and gave me the thumbs up to "go", then gave me the 5 fingers to "stop", then gave me another thumbs up that meant "all good". Unfortunately I misinterpreted the signs of our secret combination. I thought that he meant "Go", then "Stop", then "Go" again. I left a small dent in the sister's car, little bit embarrassing but I made it funny.
After that I tucked my shirt back in and walked into the meeting in a completely soaked suit. Everyone looked pretty confused and I sat on the very front row. The meeting was really good about what we need to work on. One of the things was that we decided we needed to work on was to stop getting into car wrecks and we were warned that we have to have our companion outside the car when we are backing. Then President told everyone about the Elder that backed into a Sister's car. He didn't name names so that was alright. Later in the meeting we talked about using study time wisely. Elder Clements stood up and expressed that he saw a video of two elders who tied a string to a fly and then taped it to their desk during studies - he didn't name names either. It was pretty funny because most people saw the video of Elder Kapateni and I doing it.
Next we talked about cleanliness in flats and we were shown pictures form people's flats around the mission. Bad and good ones. They even included a picture of the bathroom in the flat in Panmure from when Elder Johnson and I were there. I was able to see Elder Johnson at the meeting and we both just looked at each other and busted up laughing when the picture came up.
We finished the mission with testimonies and I got up and shared my testimony and admitted to the things we were talking about throughout the meeting. It was so funny. I made it into a big joke and everyone was laughing. President gave the closing remarks and even mentioned that we were glad to have someone like Elder Summers to keep us entertained at conferences. :)
That was the main story for this week but it was awesome. It was definitely a much better week.
Love,
Elder Summers
