The work is good, Easter was pretty normal, I had some really good studies on the Atonement but that was about it. Church was normal too. We did have some new people attend so that is good. I didn't even hear about other people's Easters. It seems like, similar to Christmas, it just isn't as all out here as far as gifts and chocolates and all of that goes. I don't know if I have mentioned this in the past but the chocolate is like 100 times better here. I have found that you can't really help someone who isn't willing to help themselves. For example this week we had a lesson with an investigator that we have taught for the whole time I have been here. She has stopped keeping any commitment so we had what we call a do or die lesson which ends with a commitment to start progressing or stop meeting with us. It was hard because I am friends with this investigator and love them and want what's best for them but we as the missionaries can only do so much. We dropped them but we will still invite them to activities and stuff. Hopefully they will help themselves before Heavenly Father has to step in and humble them. A trip to St George sounds fun right about now - too bad I have to work too. :) Saved by Amazon - I am glad that one time I accidentally spent $80 on a Prime membership so we could see how useful it can be haha. It's never fun when you don't feel like you are going anywhere - sorry if the week didn't seem to be as productive for you as you would have liked, Dad. I know this might not make it feel any better (or maybe worse) but we had a very productive week at least. :)
This Week;
This week was pretty good. We were able to see some miracles and have some fun at the same time. Plus we named the zone which is a first time for me. We are now the Harvest Harbour Zone.
The week started off with a P-Day activity. We had a photo scavenger hunt at the mall!. I will admit I was not too keen at the beginning but thanks to that competitive spirit I was able to get into it and had a lot of fun. Plus we won! The goal being having the funniest, most creative photos with every box checked. We did miss two of the bonus boxes but they were bonus and so we were still voted the winners.
The list of Photos we had to take a picture of. The goal being to be the most creative and funny, with one or both companions in the photo unless otherwise stated:
- Both companions Sitting down
- Wearing Heels
- Shopping at a store missionaries don't usually shop at.
- Wearing Jeans
- Wearing something for $10
- Backing your Companion Up
- Wearing something Funny/Unusual
- Avoiding Shop Music
- A Random Stranger
- A Kiwi
- Something Sweet
- Stickman (we actually found a legit man made out of sticks. Win.)
- Photo of a photo
Overall it was a really productive week full of good stuff, too much to write about. I am so happy to be here and I know what I am doing is exactly what I need to be doing.
Love You Guys,
Elder Summers
