I totally forgot about Pioneer Day - thanks for the reminder! The reunion seems to have gone well. It looks like it was a lot of fun. I was explaining Demon Hunter the other night to my companion as we were nodding off to sleep - we talked about it for almost an hour. I realized how we are good at making up games. My companion was fascinated, or at least I think he was, and if not he at least was good enough to let me explain it. He is a good guy. Kaden is getting old it seems like, he looks huge in that one picture under the sign with Mom. No updates with Pini (the big beast of a Tongan) or his wife Jennifer. We haven't seen them this past week.
This Week:
This week felt really slow but really fast at the same time. Overall it was a pretty good week. We had some progress in the area. We have a new investigator named Tosh and she is a YSA from Fiji - Fijian Indian actually - and she is pretty cool. I love working with YSA-aged people. Violet dropped all our appointments with her this week - it has been a while since we have seen her. We are really enjoying our time here I am pretty happy that we have another transfer ahead of us.
The other day we went to visit a LA member named Bro Cooper, he is returning to church so that is good. We are doing a lot of reactivation work and we are actually seeing some progress with the people we are working with. We went over to visit him but he was inside and we got caught outside by some of his grandkids and not all of them are members. We ended up playing touch for about 20-30 min or so. It was a lot of fun, there was one play where I managed to step my companion but in the process I ended up ripping my pants a pretty big rip. I scored a try so it was totally worth it, even though we weren't keeping score. Most of my clothes are pretty beat up, A member is fixing them or I would have sent a picture, She said she had talked to Mom on FB her name is Lyn. She is really awesome.
The High Priests had a rescue night on and we went with our ward mission leader to the rescue. We were able to get the members to visit almost every person we put on our Progress Record. It is really good to see that the members are trying to do missionary work. I really am grateful for the opportunity on the mission to see what goes on behind the scenes at church. All the planning and preparing and talking and visiting that goes on to keep the church running wth all its programs. I don't particularly like attending ward council but it does make me realize how amazing this church is. There is a lot going on in our ward and so many members are willing to put in so much work.
Love,
Elder Summers
