The trip to México seems like it was amazing. I am so jealous that I did not get to go. Like, my mission is way cooler but México would be nice I guess. That night that Dad was driving through the jungle didn't sound fun but I am glad that you made it - it sounds like it was an adventure at least. Too bad Kade didn't get to go zip lining through the jungle that would have cool. My companion did it in Fiji and he said it was pretty cool.
This Week.
This week was a really good week, except for Saturday. We had a lot of good lessons and we able to see a lot of people. We had something really cool happen this week. We found a new investigator and she is really cool. Her name is Sarah. We met her and we were able to give her a priesthood blessing on Monday night. Our member just asked us to come and give her a blessing even though she didn't know what a blessing was. Sis Kavea is our m\Member she is a LA returning member that has been making some good progress. She is the only semi-active member in her family and Sarah is her cousin, Sarah had never gotten one of those before but she had seen a priesthood blessing once when her uncle had given her son a blessing. We were able to go over and explain what the priesthood was and how faith was necessary for it to work. We then gave her the blessing and we left. The next night we got a text from Sister Kavea asking us to schedule an appointment for the next day. Sarah wanted to learn more about the gospel. The text said, "Hi Elders can we arrange an appointment tomorrow, and can you bring a priesthood holder? My cousin wants to hear the gospel her heart is soo open to hearing." Talk about the favorite text you could get as a missionary.
So we went over and she is pretty keen. It was definitely a miracle this week. She has no prior knowledge about God - like none at all. Our first lesson was 2 hours just getting to know her and we taught her about how God is her loving Heavenly Father and He wants her to communicate with Him through prayer. It is so cool to see her recognize the things that she knew before she came to earth. We have a FHE scheduled tonight and she is pretty cool. I am excited to see how things go. Definitely the highlight of the week. A blessing that led to a lesson a couple of days later... A Blesson.
Saturday was the worst day. We had a member drop off some food on Friday, it was Chinese takeaway. My companion didn't eat any of it. I had some Chow Mein and the next day I had some pretty bad food poisoning I think. I wasn't puking but I was making some offerings to the water gods - 8 times that day. It was no fun. I felt well enough to go out but every time we tried we had to come back to the flat to use the toilet. It was a useless day. Thankfully I am back up to full health and had a great Sunday.
It was a pretty good week overall.
